Benefits
  • Powerful Workstation Access to the NonStop™ Server Environment: TDS combines the benefits of desktop systems and the power of NonStop™ Server systems by enabling workstations to communicate with servers running as NonStop™ Transaction Services/MP (Pathway) applications
  • Performance Improvements: Extend the performance of these high-volume transaction applications by preprocessing transactions on the workstation level
  • Protection: Protect your transactions with "delegated commits" and "persistent processes" as they move seamlessly between clients and servers
  • Wide Range of availability for workstations and protocols: TDS works with various desktop client platforms and is fully compatible with the HP NonStop Remote Server Call Application Program Interface (API), which can be used with most workstation-based languages, development tools, and applications
Features

Multiplatform Support: Support platforms include Windows 95, 98, 2000, and ME, Windows NT™ Server, Linux, Solaris, and other UNIX operating systems

Multi-tool Support: Many languages, tools, and applications work with TDS, including environments that interface to standard C Libraries, such as Microsoft C++ and Visual Basic™ software.

Transaction Protection and Database Consistency: TDS supports the HP NonStop Transaction Monitoring Facility (TMF). Your TDS client application can make concurrent updates to multiple databases, using multiple servers and guarantee that those updates are committed as a single transaction - or rolled back in the event of trouble.

Process Persistence, Reliability, and Availability: The fundamental strengths of HP NonStop servers are provided, including reliability and availability. Using Pathway, if the host component is busy when a request comes in, the request is redirected to another copy of the host component.

Security: Access Control Server (ACS) may be used to control workstation access to host TDS services.
